Brush & Undergrowth Clearing
Privet, greenbriar, poison ivy and saplings cut back to the ground, for pasture upkeep, firebreaks, or simply getting your land back.
Overview
Brush is the understory that grows between and under trees: Chinese privet, greenbriar, poison ivy, sumac and the saplings that would be trees in a few years. In North Texas it can turn an open lot into a thicket within a couple of seasons, and it's usually the main thing standing between you and usable land.
For brush we use a rotary brush cutter or mulching head on a track machine, and hand crews where machines can't reach. Cutting is the fastest way to open ground up; for land you want to stay open, we'll talk through follow-up cuts so it doesn't grow back thick.

Common questions
Will the brush grow back?
Some will. Privet and other brush resprout from the roots. A follow-up cut or two in the first year keeps it from coming back thick.
Can you clear poison ivy?
Yes. Crews wear protection, and we cut or mulch it rather than burning it, which spreads the irritant.
Can you clear brush around trees I want to keep?
Yes. We clear the understory and leave the trees, which often improves their health.
Is brush clearing the same as mowing?
No. Brush cutters handle woody stems and saplings that would wreck a mower.
