Overview

Wood decks are still the most popular way to extend a North Texas house into the yard: they stay cooler underfoot than composite, they're easy to repair, and cedar weathers to a soft silver if you let it. We build ground-level platforms, raised decks with stairs, and multi-level decks that step down a sloped yard.

Under every deck: concrete footings below grade, framing rated for ground contact, metal connectors at every joist and post, and a ledger bolted and flashed to the house so water can't rot the rim joist behind it.

Why we don't post prices onlineTwo fences of the same length can differ widely in cost once grade, access, gates and what's in the ground are counted. We would rather give you one accurate written number than a range that doesn't hold up.

Common questions

Cedar or pressure-treated pine?

Cedar looks better, resists rot naturally and stays more stable. Treated pine costs less and is right for framing; some homeowners choose it for decking and stain it.

When does a deck need a railing?

Residential codes typically require guards where the walking surface is more than 30 inches above grade. We confirm with your city.

How do I keep a wood deck looking good?

Clean it and apply a penetrating sealer every year or two. We offer deck sealing as a service.

Can you replace the boards on my old deck?

If the framing is sound, yes. See deck repair.
