Overview

An automatic gate is a moving machine weighing hundreds of pounds. Installed well, it opens quietly for years. Installed with an undersized operator or without safety devices, it strains, stalls and becomes a hazard. We size every operator above the gate's weight and length, and photo eyes and safety edges are part of the job, not an extra.

We automate new gates we build and retrofit existing gates, after checking that the frame, hinges and posts can take the load. Power can be AC, solar, or AC with battery backup.

Why we don't post prices onlineTwo fences of the same length can differ widely in cost once grade, access, gates and what's in the ground are counted. We would rather give you one accurate written number than a range that doesn't hold up.

Common questions

Can you automate my existing gate?

Often. We check the frame, hinges and posts first; if the gate sags or drags, we fix that before adding an operator.

Is solar power reliable?

For light to moderate use in a sunny spot, yes. For heavy gates or high traffic, AC power with battery backup is more dependable.

What safety devices are required?

Gate operators are installed with entrapment protection such as photo eyes and safety edges, following the manufacturer's instructions and UL 325 guidance. We don't leave a gate running without them.

Can I open the gate from my phone?

Yes, by adding a Wi-Fi or cellular controller to most modern operators.
