Overview

A driveway gate is usually the largest single piece of a fence project and the one people judge a property by. We build in ornamental steel, cedar over a welded steel frame, and welded pipe for ranch entrances, with a flat, arched or custom top.

Every drive gate starts with a measurement of the opening, the slope of the drive and where the gate would swing or slide. That decides whether you need a swing or slide gate, and how big the posts and footings must be to carry it without sagging.

Arched ornamental steel

Double-swing steel gates with an arched top rail, classic for estate and front entrances.

Why we don't post prices onlineTwo fences of the same length can differ widely in cost once grade, access, gates and what's in the ground are counted. We would rather give you one accurate written number than a range that doesn't hold up.

Common questions

Swing or slide: which is better?

Swing gates suit level drives with room for the leaves to open. Slide gates suit sloped drives, short setbacks or places where a swinging leaf would hit cars.

Why do wood driveway gates sag?

Wood alone can't support a wide span. We build drive gates on welded steel frames and clad them in cedar, so you get the look without the sag.

Can you match my existing fence?

Yes, picket style, cedar and stain color, or iron picket and finial patterns.

Can the gate be automated later?

We can build it opener-ready now, with a reinforced frame, mounting plates and conduit, so adding an operator later is simple.
